Why does my damp or mould report mention the weather?
When cold, humid weather is forecast for your property's area over the next few days, LetTrack can add a short note to an already-open damp or mould report — for context, not as a new alert.

What you might see
On an open damp or mould maintenance report, you may see a short note like:
"Cold, humid weather is forecast locally, which can make damp and mould worse while it lasts."
underneath the description, with the date the forecast was checked and a credit/link to the weather data source.
How it works
- LetTrack checks the weather forecast for the property's postcode area against reports already marked as damp or mould, using the outward part of the postcode only (not the full address).
- A note is added at most once a fortnight per report, and only while the report stays open.
- The note is automatically hidden once the forecast window it describes has passed — so you will not see a stale note from weeks ago.
- It never creates a new report and never sends you a message or email. It only adds context to a damp/mould report a human has already raised. A property with no open damp/mould report is never touched.
Why LetTrack does this
Damp and mould can get worse in cold, humid conditions, and the Renters' Rights Act ("Awaab's Law") requires landlords to treat reported hazards seriously and act within set timescales. This note gives useful context when deciding how urgently to act — it does not change your legal deadlines, which are driven by the report itself, not the weather.
Where the data comes from
Forecast data is from Open-Meteo (CC BY 4.0), and area location data from postcodes.io — both credited directly under the note. LetTrack sends only the outward part of your postcode (e.g. "SW1A"), never a full address.
Turning it off
This is a background annotation, not a setting you configure per-report. If you have concerns about it, contact your account admin or LetTrack support.
