How do I record a protected tenancy deposit?
LetTrack records your deposit's scheme, reference and protection date and tracks the 30-day deadline — but you register the deposit with DPS, MyDeposits or TDS yourself.

What LetTrack does
LetTrack records and tracks your deposit protection so you have a clear, dated record and a reminder of the deadline. It does not register the deposit for you or hold any money — you protect the deposit with your chosen government-authorised scheme, then record it here.
Recording a protected deposit
Open the tenancy and use the deposit section. You can enter:
- the deposit amount
- the scheme — Deposit Protection Service (DPS), MyDeposits, or Tenancy Deposit Scheme (TDS)
- the scheme reference number
- the date you protected it
Once saved, the tenancy shows the deposit as protected, with the date.
The 30-day deadline
For assured tenancies, LetTrack tracks the 30-day window from the tenancy start date. Until you record protection you'll see a countdown, or an overdue flag once the window has passed — so nothing slips.
What you still do yourself
LetTrack doesn't register the deposit with the scheme, manage the money, or serve the prescribed information — those remain your responsibility. LetTrack keeps the record and the reminder.
