Moving out checklist
1. Give proper notice
- Check your tenancy agreement for the required notice period (usually one month for a periodic tenancy)
- Notice must be given in writing — email is usually acceptable; check your agreement
2. Clean the property
- Leave the property in the same condition as when you moved in (fair wear and tear excepted)
- Clean all rooms, appliances, and outdoor areas
- Remove all belongings
3. Final inspection
- Your landlord or agent will carry out a check-out inspection, ideally with you present
- Compare against the inventory / check-in report
- Any agreed deductions will be documented
4. Return the keys
- Hand back all keys (including post box and garage) on the tenancy end date
- Get a receipt or written confirmation
5. Provide a forwarding address
- Your landlord is legally required to return your deposit to a confirmed address
- Update your address in LetTrack settings or notify your landlord in writing
After you leave
- Your landlord has a fixed period (10 days from agreement on deductions) to return your deposit
- You will receive a deposit return notification once processed
